In a high-stakes New Delhi Assembly seat ahead of the Delhi Elections 2025, the BJP has put up Parvesh Verma against well-known contenders including AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal and Congressman Sandeep Dikshit, the son of former Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit.
Parvesh’s Attack on “Sheesh Mahal,” Arvind Kejriwal’s
Parvesh Verma attacked AAP national convenor and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal harshly on Sunday, claiming that he had misused public funds to build his official home, known as “Sheesh Mahal.”
He insisted that the house be become a tourist attraction and made accessible to the general population.
Verma told ANI that Sheesh Mahal need to be designated as a tourist destination. Delhi residents must to be aware of how public monies were utilized to construct this opulent home by the individual who stole, deceived, and sold their aspirations. I want Delhi residents to see Arvind Kejriwal for what he truly is: a mahathug (master conman).
According to Verma, the house, which was constructed under Kejriwal, has come to represent purported excess and misappropriation of public funds. Additionally, he urged Delhi Chief Minister Atishi in a letter to permit public access to the mansion between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM, arguing that doing so would foster openness and confidence between the people and the administration.
“The public is curious about the appearance of the location where their elected official served. This will guarantee openness and meet public expectations,” Verma continued.
The BJP’s Delhi strategy against the AAP
In contrast to the AAP’s overwhelming victory of 62 seats in the 2020 Assembly elections, the BJP is hoping to improve its record in Delhi after winning only eight of 70 seats. At a rally on Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also attacked the AAP administration, saying it was squandering public funds. Considering the “Sheesh Mahal,”
“The AAP government was focused on constructing this extravagant residence during the Covid-19 pandemic, when the people of Delhi were struggling,” PM Modi stated. “The AAP-da (disaster) government has wasted 10 years of Delhi’s development,” he said, urging voters to overthrow the AAP government in the next polls.
“The PM uses speeches to abuse the AAP,” claims Arvind Kejriwal.
Arvind Kejriwal responded by accusing Modi of attacking the AAP administration for the majority of his speech. “The Prime Minister spoke for 38 minutes today, 29 of which were devoted to disparaging the AAP and Delhi residents. Listening to that was unpleasant, Kejriwal said.
Congress Seek to Reviving
In an attempt to reclaim its lost position in Delhi politics, the Congress has put Sandeep Dikshit up in the New Delhi constituency. Congress, which was formerly the most powerful party in the capital, lost both of the most recent Assembly elections.
