The BCCI, or Board of Control for Cricket in India, revealed the highly awaited Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2025 schedule on Thursday, January 16. On February 14, at the brand new BCA Stadium in Vadodara, the event will kick off with the reigning champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) facing off against Gujarat Giants (GG).
With venues in Vadodara, Bengaluru, Lucknow, and Mumbai, the third season of the WPL will have 22 matches. Mumbai will host the Eliminator and Final, making it the perfect venue to end the competition on a high note.
Joined by Smriti Mandhana, RCB will be looking to defend their first title, which they won in a nail-biter against Delhi Capitals in 2024. On the other hand, on February 15 in Vadodara, the famous Meg Lanning will lead the Delhi Capitals as they seek a solid start to their season against the dangerous Mumbai Indians.
“The highly anticipated opener will see the Gujarat Giants take on the defending champions RCB at the state-of-the-art BCA Stadium in Baroda,” announced the WPL media advisory. At the historic M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, RCB will play their maiden home game against Mumbai Indians on February 21, after Baroda hosts six games in the league.
Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara will play home to the first six matches, while the highest-ranking venue among the four, M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, will host the last eight games. Two league matches and the pivotal knockout phases will be held in Mumbai, while four group stage matches will be hosted by Lucknow.
