Tata Group’s Taj Hotels are unquestionably a classic illustration of India’s hospitality and welcome, as they are synonymous with opulence and grandeur. Indian Hotels Company is striving to achieve substantial revenue growth within the next five years by focusing on the significant expansion of its most significant brand in its portfolio.
Last month, Tata Group’s IHCL disclosed its quarterly earnings for the October-December 2024 period. The company reported a 29% increase in net profit to Rs 582 crore and a 29% increase in revenue to Rs 2592 crore. Additionally, IHCL’s EBITDA increased by 32%.
“IHCL has established a new growth benchmark in accordance with Accelerate 2030, with 55 signings and 20 openings to date this fiscal year. Eighty-five percent of these signings are capital-light.” Puneet Chhatwal, the MD and CEO of IHCL, stated, “With a portfolio of 360 hotels and an industry-leading pipeline of 123 hotels, IHCL is well-positioned to reach 700 hotels by 2030 at this rate of growth.”

IHCL signed 20 hotels between October 2024 and December 2024. These hotels included 3 Taj hotels in Chail and Ayodhya, The Claridges in New Delhi, SeleQtions hotels in Diu and Mandvi, a Vivanta in Surat, Tree of Life resorts in Udaipur and Naldehra, 6 under the newly reimagined Gateway, and 5 Ginger hotels.
Tata Group opened eight new hotels in Q3, bringing the total number of operating hotels to 237 across brands, including the Taj in Puri.
IHCL has established ambitious objectives for the subsequent five years. The company has expanded its operational portfolio to 237 hotels, from 142 properties in 2017. The Indian Hotels Company’s current objective is to increase this figure to over 500 by 2030. By 2030, the organization intends to expand its portfolio to include over 700 hotels.
Taj, SeleQtions, and Vivanta hotels collectively operate 140 hotels as of January 25, and IHCL intends to increase this number to 225 by March 2030.
